X-energy’s Xe-100 is an 80 MWe high-temperature gas-cooled reactor, using helium as a coolant, and powered by Tri-structural, Isotropic (“TRISO”) fuel, described by the U.S. Department of Energy as the “most robust nuclear fuel on earth” for its ability to withstand extreme temperatures without melting.
